So you're interested in joining?

That's super! We're always excited to meet people up for joining us.

We held our last round of auditions on Wednesday September 19th, 2018. Auditions are typically held every 18-24 months but we're always interested in hearing from prospective members.

If you like what you see and hear and you're up for joining, pop us an email with your contact details to Join@GardinerStreetGospelChoir.com and we'll add you to our audition waiting list if no spaces are currently available.

What's involved in being a member of Gardiner Street Gospel Choir

  • The choir year runs from late August to early June.
  • Weekly rehearsal every Wednesday 7.30-9.30pm, changing to 8.00-9.30pm after your first year.
  • Weekly evening Mass every Sunday with a 1 hour rehearsal beforehand (6.30pm - 8.30pm).
  • Extra gigs/performances throughout the year, potentially with extra rehearsals in the lead up to these events.
  • Ability to read sheet music not a requirement but definitely an advantage in getting up to speed with our repetoire.
  • Any stage experience, particularly in music and dance is also an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Members pay a membership fee in two installments during the choir year.
  • You must be over 18 years of age.
  • All members are required to go through the Garda vetting process regardless of whether you have done so for another organisation/employer.
  • All members are required to complete a once-off mandatory child protection training course organised by the parish.
  • Attendance is recorded at every rehearsal, Sunday mass and concert and an excellent attendance record is required to maintain membership.
