So you're interested in joining the choir?

That's super! We're always excited to meet people up for joining us.

The last round of auditions was held in February 2017. Anyone who missed out on this opportunity will be added to our waiting list which is maintained until the next round of auditions is held. Auditions are typically held every 18-24 months if a certain number of members have moved on.

If you have been added to the waiting list since our last round of auditions, expect to hear from us. Please read on to learn more about what's involved before putting yourself forward for an audition.

What's involved

  • The choir year runs from late August to early June.
  • Weekly rehearsal every Wednesday 7.30-9.30pm, changing to 8.00-9.30pm after your first year.
  • Weekly evening Mass every Sunday with a 1 hour rehearsal beforehand (6.30pm - 8.30pm).
  • Extra gigs/performances throughout the year, potentially with extra rehearsals in the lead up to these events.
  • Ability to read sheet music not a requirement but definitely an advantage in getting up to speed with our repetoire.
  • Any stage experience, particularly in music and dance is also an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Members pay a membership fee in two installments during the choir year.
  • You must be over 18 years of age.
  • All members are required to go through the Garda vetting process regardless of whether you have done so for another organisation or not.
  • All members are required to complete a once-off mandatory child protection training course organised by the parish.
  • Attendance is recorded at every rehearsal, Sunday mass and concert and an excellent attendance record is required to maintain membership.
